Schools in Moscow have begun opening "SVO" museums on a large scale

Educational institutions in Moscow are seeing a widespread establishment of so-called "Special Military Operation" museums dedicated to Russia's war against Ukraine. According to available data, such exhibitions are already in place in approximately 8% of schools and colleges in the Russian capital.

DW reports this, citing data from the mayor of Moscow.

In total, about 175 such “museums” have opened in Moscow. They display personal belongings of Russian soldiers, items from combat zones, and thematic installations related to the war.

Experts believe this is part of a systematic information policy. The active creation of such spaces intensified following a directive from Vladimir Putin in 2023.

It is reported that “SVO museums” are appearing not only in schools and colleges, but also in kindergartens and even at religious institutions. Officially, their purpose is defined as “fostering patriotism” and cultivating a positive attitude toward military service.

Starting in the new school year, the subject “Individual Project” will be included in Russia’s mandatory school curriculum, featuring the course “Learning Through Service: The First.”

As a reminder, in 2025, Russia recordeda record number of attacks on schools and educational institutions.

In Russia, priestshave begun actively promoting a ban on premarital sex in schools.

In Russia, thousands of children are switchingto homeschooling due to the intensification of military propaganda.
