About 30 civilians remain in Stepnogorsk, Zaporizhzhia Oblast
As of May 19, approximately 30 civilians remain in the village of Stepnogorsk in the Zaporizhzhia region, located about 17 kilometers from Zaporizhzhia. Ukrainian forces cleared the village of Russian troops, but the situation in the area remains dangerous.
Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, said this during the national telethon “Yedyni Novyny.”
“There are 30 civilians in the town. As soon as they wish to evacuate, this will be arranged. The town is located 17 km from Zaporizhzhia,” Fedorov said.
He added that thanks to the actions of the “Artan” special forces unit of the Main Intelligence Directorate, the 128th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade of Zakarpattia, and other combat units, Stepnogorsk was successfully liberated from Russian forces.
“Currently, access to the city is impossible for civilians. Only military personnel remain there, completing stabilization measures. At this time, the city is not suitable for civilians, as there are no intact buildings left there,” Fedorov added.
