In Sumy, the Holy Ascension Church was damaged by a Russian airstrike
On the evening of July 26, Russian forces struck the Sumy community with seven guided aerial bombs, resulting in damage to the Holy Ascension Church—the cathedral of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine and an architectural monument of national significance.
The church is the oldest stone church in Sumy, built at the turn of the 17th and 18th centuries at the expense of Sumy colonels Gerasim and Andriy Kondratyev, and is considered an outstanding example of Cossack Baroque. This is not the first time the enemy has damaged this sacred site—on September 11 of last year, the cathedral’s facade was also damaged during yet another Russian shelling.
In total, during the evening airstrike, more than thirty private residential buildings, vehicles, and infrastructure facilities were damaged, and five civilians were injured.

On July 27, Russian troops struck the town of Balakliya in the Kharkiv region. One person was killed in the attack, and eight other residents were injured.
As a reminder, a man was killed in Kherson by the explosion of a “Pelyustka” anti-personnel mine.
The Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) has identified those responsible for the shelling of the ATB supermarket in Chernihiv.
