A 22-year-old police officer was killed in Zaporizhzhia as a result of a Russian strike

Senior Police Lieutenant Dmytro Belymenko was killed in a Russian airstrike on Zaporizhzhia on July 10.

It is noted that Dmytro Belymenko served as an operative officer with the Strategic Investigations Directorate in Zaporizhzhia Oblast, part of the Strategic Investigations Department of the National Police of Ukraine.

“He was only 22 years old. Despite his young age, Dmytro consciously chose to serve as a defender of law and order in Zaporizhzhia, which is located near the front lines. He began his service with the National Police of Ukraine in September 2020. Starting in January 2026, he served in the Zaporizhzhia regional unit of the Strategic Investigations Department. His colleagues describe him as a promising officer, a reliable comrade, and a man of great honor who never shied away from difficulties,” the statement reads.

On July 10, Russian troops struck civilian infrastructure in Zaporizhzhia with a guided aerial bomb. At the time of the attack, Dmytro Belymenko was on duty near the epicenter of the explosion. His injuries proved fatal.

The police emphasized that the young officer’s death was a great loss for the entire team.

“An enemy guided bomb instantly cut short his grand plans for the future, his promising career, and a whole life that had only just begun. The deepest pain of this loss is shared by Dmytro’s parents, relatives, friends, and colleagues. The leadership and personnel of the Zaporizhzhia Police express their sincere condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased,” the department stated.

The Zaporizhzhia Regional Police reported the death of the 22-year-old law enforcement officer.

As a reminder, on the morning of July 11, Russian troops again attacked Kharkiv with drones. One of the drones struck a civilian facility in the Nemyshlyanskyi district of the city. According to the latest reports, seven people were injured.

In addition, Russian troops attacked Ukrnafta gas stations in the Dnipropetrovsk region for two nights in a row. Despite the damage, the company says it is doing everything possible to resume fuel distribution to residents of frontline regions as soon as possible.

On the night of July 11, Russian troops launched a massive combined attack on Ukraine, using ballistic missiles, air-to-ground missiles, and over a hundred attack drones.
