A strike on the Russian Baltic Fleet's arsenal led to the detonation of 60,000 metric tons of ammunition
During recent long-range strikes near St. Petersburg, Ukrainian defense forces destroyed more than 60,000 metric tons of Russian ammunition at a strategic arsenal of the Baltic Fleet.
This was announced by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy following a detailed briefing by Oleg Ivashchenko, head of the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
During a military meeting, the country’s leadership discussed the current results of Ukraine’s so-called “long-range sanctions” against the Russian military-industrial complex. Military intelligence confirmed the successful destruction of a number of key Russian enterprises specializing in the production of radio-electronic equipment and high-tech components for the needs of the occupying army. Moreover, the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) has obtained internal documents from the Russian Ministry of Defense in which the aggressor directly acknowledges the catastrophic consequences of the Ukrainian attacks. Due to the constant threat of new strikes, the Russian command is forced to urgently redeploy scarce air defense systems from rear regions to reinforce the defense of Moscow and the Kerch Bridge area, leaving other sectors exposed.
A separate section of the intelligence chief’s report was devoted to analyzing the current state of missile production on Russian territory and the activity of the enemy’s strategic aviation. Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukraine is already preparing new symmetrical measures in response to the missile terror. The head of state stressed that large-scale losses in the rear should demonstrate to ordinary Russians the direct consequences of the actions of their leadership, which consistently rejects constructive diplomacy and prolongs this bloody war.
