Lukoil's Largest Refinery Shuts Down After Drone Attack — Reuters

The Nizhegorodnefteorgsintez (NORS) oil refinery, which is Lukoil’s largest refinery, halted oil processing following a drone attack.

According to Reuters, the strike damaged the AVT-5 primary refining unit, which accounts for about 25% of the plant’s production capacity.

Following the attack, the refinery suspended sales of wholesale gasoline and diesel fuel on the St. Petersburg Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange. At the same time, the company plans to gradually increase production at other facilities and resume operations without the damaged unit.

NORSI has the capacity to refine up to 15 million metric tons of crude oil per year and produce about 5 million metric tons of gasoline. According to the agency, this is already the fifth Russian oil refinery to suspend operations in June following attacks or due to repairs.
