Ukraine is not withdrawing its proposal for an Easter ceasefire despite shelling by Russia
Ukraine is not abandoning its initiative to establish an Easter truce, despite Russia’s vague response to the proposal.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy made this statement during a conversation with journalists.
According to him, Moscow’s reaction to the idea of a ceasefire on Easter remains vague and does not provide a clear answer regarding its readiness for such a step.
“We’ve all seen their response in the media: they seem to be unprepared for this. I don’t know how serious this response is,” Zelenskyy noted.
The president also reported that Ukraine has already submitted a corresponding request to the U.S. side. At the same time, it is currently unknown whether the United States will be able to effectively convey this initiative to the Russian side.
“Our proposal for a ceasefire on Easter remains,” the head of state emphasized.
Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Russia’s massive attack on April 1 was a response to Ukraine’s initiative for a ceasefire on Easter.
As a reminder, the Russians attacked the Kyiv region with drones: there is damage.
Russia also attacked Ukraine with 164 drones; air defense forces destroyed 150 UAVs.
