Ukraine has received a new IRIS-T launcher from Germany — Zelenskyy
On Saturday, May 30, Ukraine received another launch unit for the IRIS-T air defense missile system from Germany to bolster its air defense capabilities.
The new weaponry will help more effectively protect Ukrainian airspace from constant air attacks by the Russian Federation.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy officially announced the reinforcement of the air defense system on his social media accounts.
The head of state expressed his deep gratitude to international partners for their timely and critically important military aid. The provision of this equipment is a significant step toward ensuring the safety of Ukrainian cities and the civilian population.
The delivery of the system took place amid extremely intense airstrikes on our country’s territory.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that this week alone, the Russians launched 2,300 attack drones, nearly 1,560 guided aerial bombs, and 108 missiles of various types at Ukrainians.
All of these large-scale strikes were deliberately carried out by the occupiers against civilian infrastructure—residential buildings and energy facilities.
Ukrainian authorities continue to hold daily talks with foreign leaders to strengthen the defense capabilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“Every day we work to strengthen our defense against Russian terror. Yesterday we received a new IRIS-T launcher. We thank Germany for its ongoing contribution to protecting people. Thousands upon thousands of lives have been saved thanks to such strong support,” Zelenskyy noted.
