Ukraine begins using the “Sapsan” tactical missile system with ballistic missiles — Zelensky
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed that the country is using a number of new missile systems, including “Long Neptunes,” “Palyanytsia,” “Flamingo,” and has already begun deploying “Sapsan.”
He made the statement while answering journalists’ questions in a chat hosted by the Office of the President.
Zelensky noted that details of the missile program cannot be disclosed at this time, so as not to reveal the capabilities of Ukrainian forces. He emphasized the effectiveness of the “Neptune” missile and added that the enemy does not always accurately understand which weapons are being used — which works to Ukraine’s advantage.
“The Neptunes work really well, and there are moments when our enemy believes that ‘Neptunes’ were used,” the president said. “And let them continue to think so.”
As a reminder, according to Welt, Ukraine used “Flamingo” cruise missiles during an attack on temporarily occupied Crimea, hitting a Russian FSB base.
Ukraine has also started using FP-5 “Flamingo” cruise missiles to strike Russian energy infrastructure.
