Ukraine is asking its allies for an additional $20 billion for military needs – Politico

Ukraine has appealed to its Western partners for an additional $20 billion in funding for military needs. Politico reports this, citing an anonymous senior official from the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense. According to the publication, the request is aimed at strengthening defense capabilities in the context of the ongoing war.

According to the publication’s source, Kyiv plans to use this money to secure a “battlefield advantage.”

“Everyone can see that Russia is burning. And we want it to burn even more intensely, but for that we need funding,” he said.

The issue of military aid to Ukraine is expected to be one of the key topics at the NATO leaders’ summit in Ankara in July.
