The Ukrainian FP-7 ballistic missile may be ready for combat use in September

The Ukrainian company Fire Point plans to complete testing and preparation of the FP-7 ballistic missile for operational use by the end of September 2026.

This was announced by the company’s CEO and CTO, Iryna Terekh, during the DALO Industry Days exhibition in Denmark. According to her, the FP-7 is currently undergoing final testing and must be certified before proceeding to combat trials.

The missile will have a range of up to 300 km. Fire Point is positioning it as a more affordable alternative to the American ATACMS.

The company is also working on the FP-9 missile with a stated range of 800–850 km. Its first launch is planned for before the end of 2026.

According to Terekh, Fire Point is self-funding its ballistic missile program. The main source of funding for missile development is the production of the FP-1 and FP-2 long-range drones and the FP-5 “Flamingo” cruise missile.

On July 29, Serhiy Shtilerman, co-owner and chief designer of the Ukrainian company Fire Point, posted a photo of the launch of an unidentified missile but did not disclose any details about the images.

As a reminder, on Monday, July 28, Fire Point reported that Ukrainian FP-1 drones struck a warehouse belonging to the Russian logistics operator 3PL in the village of Koledino.
