Ukrainian engineers have developed the country's first domestically produced guided aerial bomb
A member of the Brave1 defense cluster has developed Ukraine’s first guided aerial bomb (GAB), which has already successfully passed all necessary tests and is fully ready for combat use on the front lines.
This was announced by Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov.
The emergence of this weapon marks an important milestone in the development of the domestic military-industrial complex.
Official representatives of the developers emphasize that this new means of countering the aggressor will significantly expand the capabilities of the Ukrainian Air Force’s tactical aviation.
The creation of this highly effective munition required long and painstaking work by leading Ukrainian specialists in the field of aviation design. Development took 17 months.
The Ukrainian guided munition has a unique design and was created with the realities of modern warfare in mind.
It is not a copy of Western or Soviet designs, but an original development by Ukrainian engineers for the effective destruction of fortifications, command posts, and other enemy targets tens of kilometers deep after launch.
The new weapon has significant destructive power, which will allow it to effectively destroy even well-protected underground bunkers and fortifications of the occupiers. The warhead weighs 250 kg.
The Ministry of Defense has already purchased the first experimental batch. Pilots are currently working through combat scenarios and adapting the use of this new weapon in real-world combat conditions to maximize strike accuracy.
Ukraine is already producing its own long-range weapons, which are more effective than the limited number of TAURUS missiles that Germany could provide.
