Ukrainian troops have destroyed a new Russian Sokol-I drone for the first time
For the first time, Ukrainian defense forces shot down a new Russian “Sokol-I” drone, which the Russians developed to counter Ukrainian reconnaissance and strike drones.
It is reported that the drone was destroyed by soldiers of the 57th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade named after Koshovy Ataman Kostya Gordienko, using the “General Chereshnya AIR” interceptor drone.
The company emphasized that the successful interception of the “Sokol-I” confirms the effectiveness of Ukrainian interceptor drones in combating not only reconnaissance and strike UAVs but also new specialized Russian drones.
It is also reported that the “General Chereshnya AIR” is already being successfully deployed against Russian “Molniya”-type drones. According to data from the DELTA situational awareness system, these interceptors account for 44% of all confirmed downings of drones of this type.
