A Jewish school in Odessa has been destroyed by shelling
The Chabad Or Avner Jewish school in Odessa sustained serious damage as a result of a nighttime attack. The building was damaged and rendered unfit for further use.
This was reported byhistorian and journalist Shimon Briman.
According to staff members, the explosion was so powerful that it was felt throughout the entire street. At the time of the blast, children from the “Mishpacha Ukraine” Jewish orphanage were in the shelter—all 124 children were unharmed.
Community members note that despite the destruction, they plan to restore the school and continue its operations.
Following the attack, oil contaminated the coast of Chornomorskand harmed birds.
Cleanup efforts to remove the sunflower oil spill are ongoing in the port of Chornomorsk—booms have been deployed.
