In Russia, drones attacked the Ilsky Oil Refinery in the Krasnodar Krai
Another drone attack on fuel and energy infrastructure facilities has been reported in Russia’s Krasnodar Krai.
Footage showing the aftermath of the strike on the Ilsk oil refinery has appeared online, according to OSINT channels.
The released videos show a massive fire and thick smoke, which may indicate serious damage to the facility as a result of the drone attack.
At the same time, there is currently no official confirmation of the strike on the facility from the Krasnodar Krai authorities. The region’s governor, Veniamin Kondratyev, has not commented on reports of possible damage to the plant. However, local Telegram channels are actively sharing video footage from the scene and eyewitness accounts.
The Ilsky Oil Refinery is one of the largest private oil refineries in southern Russia. The facility processes crude oil and produces petroleum products for the country’s domestic market.
In addition to civilian use, such facilities play a crucial role in supplying fuel to Russian military units participating in the war against Ukraine.
This is not the first attack on the Ilsky Oil Refinery. The last major strike on the facility was recorded on February 17, 2026.
At that time, a drone attack caused a fire on the refinery’s grounds and damaged a tank containing petroleum products. According to Russian sources, the fire covered an area of approximately 700 square meters.
In recent months, Russian oil refineries and other facilities in the fuel and energy sector have been regularly targeted by drone strikes. Such attacks pose additional risks to the oil industry’s operations and may affect fuel production volumes.
The extent of the damage to the Ilsk Oil Refinery and the possible consequences of the latest attack are currently being assessed.
As a reminder, on the night of May 31, Ukrainian defenders carried out “long-range strikes,” successfully targeting an oil refinery in Saratov, Russia, located approximately 700 kilometers from the front line. All such attacks are carried out in strict accordance with approved priorities and plans.
