In Ukraine, 755 medical facilities damaged by Russian shelling have been restored
In Ukraine, 755 healthcare facilities that were damaged by Russian shelling have been fully restored. Since the start of the full-scale invasion, Russia has damaged 2,617 and destroyed 331 medical facilities. Restoration work is ongoing.
“As of June 1, 2026, according to information from the health care departments of the regional and Kyiv City military administrations, damage to or destruction of 2,617 facilities comprising 836 health care institutions has been confirmed. In particular, as a result of enemy actions, 331 facilities comprising 122 healthcare institutions have been completely destroyed,” the statement reads.
According to the Ministry of Health, medical facilities in the Donetsk, Luhansk, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, and Kherson regions sustained the most damage.
As the ministry emphasizes, despite the complex security situation, the restoration process continues. Specifically, 755 facilities have been fully restored, another 320 are in the process of partial restoration, and 76 facilities that had previously been restored were damaged as a result of repeated enemy attacks.
Currently, full medical care is being provided at 1,595 facilities, another 186 facilities are operating partially, and 235 healthcare facilities have been evacuated to other locations.
Data on facilities located in temporarily occupied territories remains limited due to the inability to confirm the extent of the damage.
In addition, since the start of the full-scale invasion, 328 emergency medical vehicles have been destroyed, another 166 have been damaged, and 80 have been captured by the enemy, according to the Ministry of Health’s website.
