Since the start of the day, Russian forces have launched 63 attacks, with the heaviest fighting occurring on three sectors of the front

Since the start of the day on July 21, the Russian army has carried out 63 attacks on the positions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, focusing its main efforts on three directions—Sloviansk, Kostiantynivka, and Pokrovsk. 

In addition to ground assaults, the occupiers continue to shell border towns in the Sumy and Chernihiv regions with artillery and have carried out airstrikes on the Topol and Volfyne districts in the Sumy region.

Two combat engagements are ongoing in the Northern Slobozhanshchyna and Kursk sectors. Here, the invaders have already dropped two guided bombs today and shelled settlements and Defense Forces positions 23 times.

In the Southern Slobozhansky direction, Russian troops made one attempt to break through the defenses toward Hoptivka.

In the Kupiansk sector, the enemy has not yet carried out any offensive operations today.

In the Lyman sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled seven attempts by the Russian Federation’s army to advance in the Novoselivka area, toward Shyikivka, Lyman, Stavky, and Ozerny. Four of these attacks are still ongoing.

In the Sloviansk sector, defenders repelled 16 Russian attacks in the areas of Zakitne, Kryva Luka, and Riznykivka, toward Mykolaivka and Rai-Oleksandrivka. One engagement is still ongoing.

In the Kramatorsk sector, Russian forces launched two attacks in the areas of Minkivka and Markove.

In the Kostiantynivka sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled 16 enemy attacks in the areas of Kostiantynivka, Illinivka, Rusyno Yar, and Sofiivka, toward Dovha Balka, Novopavlivka, and Kucherevo Yar. One engagement is ongoing.

In the Pokrovsk direction, since the start of the day, the Russians have attempted 15 times to dislodge the Defense Forces from their positions in the Udachne area, toward Bilytske, Novyi Donbas, Shevchenko, Myrne, and Serhiivka. One engagement is still ongoing.

In the Oleksandrivka sector, the invaders have not yet launched any offensive operations today.

In the Huliaipole sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled four enemy attacks toward Vozdvizhivka, Kosivtseve, and Verkhnia Tersa.

In the Orikhiv and Dnipro sectors, the Russian Federation’s army has not yet launched any offensive operations today.

On other sectors of the front, the situation remains largely unchanged. Russian troops are not attempting to advance.

Ukrainian defense forces are wearing down the invaders along the entire line of contact and in the rear.

On July 19 and 20, Russian troops made limited attempts to advance in the north of the Sumy region but were unsuccessful. The occupiers continue to try to create so-called buffer zones in border areas.

New threats from Russia have forced a strengthening of defenses in the Sumy region.
