Video: GUR fighters convinced a Russian occupier to lay down his arms and surrender
Fighters from the “Jesus Christ” Company of the “Brotherhood” Battalion, part of the “Timur Special Forces Unit” of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, convinced a Russian soldier to lay down his arms and surrender.
The Main Intelligence Directorate reported this on July 14, releasing a video of the operation. According to intelligence reports, the incident occurred during one of the assault operations in June 2026.
Ukrainian troops acted in accordance with the norms of international humanitarian law and persuaded the occupier to surrender.
The Main Intelligence Directorate noted that as they retreated, Russian troops attempted to eliminate the prisoner along with Ukrainian soldiers, striking them with FPV drones and artillery.
“This is exactly what fulfilling the commandment ‘Thou shalt not kill’ looks like in wartime,” Ukrainian intelligence stated.

As a reminder, former prisoner Eldar Shakirov, who was captured by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, stated that the Russian command sends convicts to the front lines without proper training and treats them as expendable.
Border guards from the “Gart” brigade eliminated 32 invaders and took five prisoner.
