Video: A "Molniya" drone exploded while being launched by Russian occupiers
A video has surfaced online showing a technical malfunction involving Russian occupation forces, during which a “Molniya”-type attack UAV exploded immediately after launch.
The released footage shows the launch platform (catapult) and the moment the drone takes off.
According to the Ukrainian military, the launch was carried out by Russian drone operators. However, immediately after leaving the launch rails, the drone detonated in the air near the occupiers’ position for unknown reasons.
As a result of the explosion, debris scattered around the position; however, judging by the video footage, the Russian servicemen who were nearby were not injured and survived.
The cause of the drone’s detonation is currently unknown.

Cameras captured the moment of the failed launch and explosion of the Russian UAV, after which the video appeared online.
Since the beginning of 2026, the Russian army has lost more than 300,000 troops killed and wounded. In terms of scale, this is comparable to the strength of nearly 150 Russian motorized rifle regiments, according to the General Staff.
Earlier, Russia attacked Izyum with KABs; among the casualties was a two-month-old infant.
On September 10, in Kyiv’s Svyatoshynsky District, a drone crashed in an open area in the woods near a shopping center. According to preliminary reports, there was no fire and no casualties.
In the Solomyanskyi district of Kyiv, an enemy drone struck the roof of a four-story business center. Emergency services were dispatched to the scene to investigate the circumstances and address the aftermath of the incident.
