Video: Drones Attack Acron Chemical Plant in Veliky Novgorod
On the night of Monday, 9 March 2026, a series of powerful explosions was reported in Veliky Novgorod.
According to monitoring channels, the target of the drone attack was one of Russia’s largest chemical enterprises — the plant of Acron.
Local residents reported the sound of drones flying overhead and at least 5–6 explosions in the industrial zone at around 03:30 a.m. Footage circulating online shows smoke and flashes above the territory of the enterprise.
Residents also complained about a strong, unusual smell in the air, which may indicate damage to production lines or tanks containing chemical substances.
The governor of Novgorod region, Alexander Dronov, claimed that the attack had allegedly been “successfully repelled,” reporting that eight drones were shot down over the region. However, eyewitness accounts and video footage suggest possible strikes on the facility.
It is worth noting that this is not the first attack on the enterprise — the facility was previously targeted in December 2025. pic.twitter.com/9W0l9P9YEj
