Video: Ukrainian drones attacked a military airfield in the Voronezh region
On the night of July 8, strike drones of the Ukrainian Defense Forces carried out an attack on a military airfield in Borisoglebsk, Voronezh Oblast, Russia. This airbase is home to aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces, which are used for both combat and training missions.
The attack took place on the night of July 7–8, 2026. The drones successfully struck the airbase, causing a fire that was also confirmed by footage from local residents.
The airfield is located at coordinates 51.367757560447004, 42.17790811738922 and, prior to the war, was one of the main airfields of the Russian Aerospace Forces.
The airfield is home to the 783rd Aviation Training Center and units of the 105th Mixed Aviation Division, which is equipped with Su-34, Su-35, and Su-30SM aircraft.
As of today, the airbase has no permanently stationed aircraft and is used as a temporary refueling and rearmament point for attacks on Ukrainian territory.
An analysis of satellite imagery from recent months indicates that the airfield has not been used very actively due to its proximity to the border. Only the occasional appearance of individual helicopters and aircraft can be observed.
This was reported by the Astra Telegram channel.
