Russian forces struck the Chernihiv region 24 times over the past 24 hours
On May 11, Russian forces carried out 24 attacks on populated areas in the Chernihiv region, primarily using drones.
The enemy caused the most damage to residential areas in the Semenivska and Menska communities, where strikes sparked fires and caused building damage.
According to Vyacheslav Chaus, head of the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, the enemy has significantly intensified its use of remote-strike weapons.
Of the total number of strikes, the vast majority were carried out by maneuverable drones, indicating a targeted hunt for targets in the border zone.
“Over the past 24 hours, there were 24 strikes on the Chernihiv region. Twenty-one were carried out by FPV drones,” the regional head reported.
Such a high concentration of drones in military administration reports confirms a shift in the enemy’s priorities from traditional artillery to more mobile and precise means of attack.
The nighttime attacks were also accompanied by the use of other types of drones. In particular, the occupiers attempted to strike infrastructure targets, forcing air defense forces and local residents to remain on constant alert.
The Novhorod-Siverskyi and Koryukivka districts bore the brunt of the strikes. In the town of Semenivka, a “Molniya”-type drone was recorded, causing a serious fire in a residential area.
A residential building caught fire in Semenivka after being hit by the enemy drone. Rescue workers worked to contain the fire to prevent it from spreading to neighboring buildings.
In addition, in the Menska community of the Koryukivka district, drones damaged a private home and a farm building, where an explosion ignited a stockpile of firewood.
Such attacks are intended not only to physically destroy property but also to exert psychological pressure on residents of the border areas.
The enemy continues to methodically shell populated areas where there are no military facilities, turning the lives of civilians into a constant struggle for survival.
