Soldiers rescued a pensioner from under fire using a drone displaying the message: "Grandma, get in"

Ukrainian military personnel carried out a special operation to evacuate an elderly woman from a danger zone in the Lyman region using a ground-based drone.

This was reported by the Third Army Corps.

The woman, who was walking along a shelled road from Stavky, was spotted by pilots of the 60th Separate Mechanized Brigade using a Mavic drone. She was walking on foot through devastated terrain with no safe way to reach shelter.

A ground-based robotic complex was sent to meet her, covered with a blanket bearing the inscription: “Grandma, get in!” The woman took advantage of the opportunity and was able to escape the shelling zone.

The operation lasted about four hours and required coordination among several units. After the evacuation, she was transported to a safe area in an armored vehicle.

It is noted that the woman survived but lost her home, where she had lived for over half a century.

Total combat losses of Russian troops since the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, as of April 24, 2026, amount to approximately 1,323,460 personnel. In the past 24 hours alone, another 910 soldiers were lost.

Ukrainian drones destroyed three Russian anti-aircraft missile systems in a single night in the occupied territories of Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia regions. The "Tor-M2" and "Osa" systems were targeted and were unable to effectively repel the attack. The operation demonstrated that Russian air defense systems do not always manage to respond even at the moment their own missiles are launched.
