A Russian soldier has been notified that he is suspected of committing a war crime against a minor in the Kherson region

The Main Investigative Directorate of the National Police, in cooperation with the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, has identified a Russian servicemember and notified him in absentia that he is suspected of committing a war crime against a minor resident of the Kherson region.

According to the investigation, the suspect is Magomed Mumadi Magomedov—a servicemember of the Russian Armed Forces who, at the time of the incident, was serving as a medic in a motorized rifle company of the 70th Motorized Rifle Regiment of the 42nd Motorized Rifle Division.

Investigators have established that on the evening of March 24, 2024, in one of the occupied villages in the Kherson region, he, together with another Russian soldier—whose identity has not yet been established—abducted a minor girl. According to law enforcement, the victim was forced to swallow a pill of unknown effect, after which she was sexually assaulted.

The suspect’s actions have been classified under Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine—violation of the laws and customs of war. Law enforcement officials emphasize that, in accordance with the norms of international humanitarian law and the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court, sexual violence during an armed conflict constitutes a war crime.

This was reported by the project “The Book of Torturers of the Ukrainian People.”

As a reminder, the SBU announced that it had charged Russian Chief of the General Staff Gerasimov with war crimes.

Ukraine has informed Israel about Russia’s crimes.
