Witkoff deleted a tweet about the leaked ‘peace plan’ for Ukraine

Steve Witkoff, special representative of US President Donald Trump, found himself at the centre of a scandal after a strange post on social network X.
Under a publication about alleged “secret negotiations” on a peace plan for Ukraine, he wrote: “He probably learned this from K…” — and almost immediately deleted the message.

Sky News reported that Witkoff appeared to have confused a public post with a private message. The letter “K” in the phrase is seen as a possible reference to Kirill Dmitriev, who is regarded as one of the Kremlin’s communication channels.

The story unfolded after Axios published an article about the development of a so-called “secret peace plan” in Washington regarding the Russian-Ukrainian war.

According to NBC News, US President Donald Trump approved a 28-point document allegedly drafted by Steve Witkoff, Senator Jay Vance, Senator Marco Rubio, and his son-in-law Jared Kushner.

The American media presents these actions as an unofficial track of negotiations, parallel to the official line of the White House. Formally, the US administration is distancing itself from the plan, but the leaks have sparked talk of a possible alternative course for Washington.
