Overnight, air defense forces shot down or neutralized 234 Russian drones
During the night of March 23, Russian troops launched a massive attack on Ukraine, deploying hundreds of attack drones. The vast majority of enemy targets were destroyed by air defense forces.
This was reported on Telegram by the Ukrainian Air Force Command.
“On the night of March 23, the enemy attacked with 251 strike UAVs of the Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas, and other types from six directions, about 150 of which were Shaheds,” the Air Force noted.
It is reported that the air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, and unmanned systems, as well as mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
According to preliminary data, as of 08:00, air defense forces had shot down or neutralized 234 enemy drones.
Additionally, 17 strike drones were recorded hitting 11 locations, and downed enemy targets were observed falling at 8 locations.
“The attack is ongoing; there are several enemy UAVs in the airspace. Follow safety guidelines,” the Air Force added.
Russian troops attack Ukraine every night, using drones and various types of missiles. As a rule, the majority of enemy targets are eliminated by air defense forces.
In particular, yesterday evening, March 22, several communities in the Kirovohrad region reported the consequences of enemy shelling.
As a reminder, on Sunday, March 22, Russian occupation forces carried out another terrorist attack against the civilian population of Sumy Oblast.
The Russians attacked Sloviansk with high-explosive bombs.
The Russians also attacked an evacuation crew with a drone in the Donetsk region; there are fatalities and injuries.
