Volodymyr Zelenskyy Outlines Conditions for Signing a Peace Agreement

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the country seeks only a just and lasting peace — one that does not diminish the years of struggle or the immense sacrifices made by the Ukrainian people.

During his address, the Head of State stressed that any diplomatic agreements must be based on respect for the nation’s heroism and resilience.

Ukraine is focused on achieving a strong and dignified outcome that will ensure real security for the future. Zelenskyy emphasized that preparations for each round of negotiations are carried out with strict adherence to national interests.

“My main message is not to erase all these years, not to devalue the entire struggle, courage, and dignity,” the president underscored, adding that the Ukrainian delegation has clear directives to safeguard the country’s achievements.

According to Zelenskyy, the negotiation process has effectively become a fierce battle over every word and formulation in official documents. He is convinced that only genuine security guarantees can serve as the foundation for a ceasefire and long-term stabilization.

“The agreement must not simply be signed — it must be accepted, accepted by Ukrainians,” he concluded.

The president noted that the legitimacy of any document ultimately depends on public support from a society that has endured the most difficult trials.

Previously, Zelenskyy showed his bunker office for the first time and also responded to accusations regarding dictatorship and the outbreak of the war.
