Enemy struck Mykolaiv with “Molniya” drones, city partially without power

On the night of December 26, Russian forces attacked Mykolaiv and its suburbs with several attack drones, preliminarily of the “Molniya” type. As a result of the shelling, part of Mykolaiv District was left without electricity.

This was reported by the head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, Vitalii Kim, on Telegram.

“At night, the enemy attacked the city of Mykolaiv and its suburbs with several attack drones, preliminarily UAVs of the ‘Molniya’ type,” the statement said.

According to the head of the RMA, the attack caused a partial power outage for consumers in Mykolaiv District.

As of the morning, electricity supply had been restored to almost all consumers. There is no information about casualties.

In addition, the occupiers struck the city of Ochakiv, preliminarily using multiple-launch rocket systems. As a result of the shelling, 11 private residential houses and eight vehicles were damaged. No one was injured.

Also during the night, the enemy attacked the Ochakiv and Kutsurub communities four times with FPV drones. There were no deaths or injuries.

The “Molniya” drone is a Russian loitering munition — something larger than a typical drone but smaller than a Shahed. It is used to attack military and civilian targets and is sometimes equipped with FPV cameras or explosives to hit targets. It has a relatively short range (over 30–50 km) and is produced using simple components, including Chinese parts.

In Odesa, one of the infrastructure facilities was hit as a result of a drone attack. A fire broke out, and work to eliminate the consequences of the strike is ongoing.

Earlier, a Russian attack once again left Mykolaiv without power, and invincibility points are being opened in the city.

Also, Russia struck Mykolaiv with Shahed drones, leaving three people injured — all in serious condition.
