Enemy drones attack Zaporizhzhia and Dnipropetrovsk regions

On the evening of 29 January, the Russian army continued its air attacks on Ukraine using strike drones.

This was reported by the Ukrainian Air Forces.

Air defence units are working to neutralise the threat. The military is monitoring the air situation and taking measures to protect Ukrainian airspace.

According to the Air Forces, the movement of enemy UAVs was recorded as follows:

  • 6:23 p.m. – a drone passed near Vilnyansk, heading toward Komyshuvakha in Zaporizhzhia region.
  • 6:36 p.m. – a drone moved toward Zaporizhzhia from the east.
  • 7:29 p.m. – further drone activity was reported: in Zaporizhzhia region near Vilnyansk and Slavhorod, and in Dnipropetrovsk region near Synelnykove.

The Ukrainian Air Forces urged citizens not to ignore air raid alerts and to stay in shelters.

U.S. President Donald Trump announced significant steps toward ending the Russian-Ukrainian war. According to him, he personally contacted the Russian dictator demanding a pause in the bombing of Kyiv and other major cities for the duration of negotiations.

On the morning of 29 January, reports circulated in Russian and Ukrainian military channels claiming that negotiators from Moscow and Kyiv in Abu Dhabi had supposedly agreed to a temporary halt of strikes on critical infrastructure until 3 February.
