The identities of the soldiers executed by Russia in the Kharkiv region have been identified
The identities of the Ukrainian prisoners of war who were shot by Russian troops in the village of Veterinarne have already been identified by law enforcement and military command.
This was reported to Suspilne by Vitaliy Sarantsev, head of the communications department of the 14th Army Corps. Despite the identification of the victims, the evacuation of their bodies from the scene remains impossible at this time due to the extremely complex and dynamic security situation.
The corps spokesperson emphasized that intense combat operations prevent specialists from safely reaching the location to carry out the necessary procedures. Military personnel are awaiting favorable conditions to retrieve the fallen defenders and hand them over to their families for burial. The situation on this section of the front is under constant monitoring, but the threat of shelling from the Russian Federation remains critically high.
The execution of unarmed prisoners is yet another war crime committed by the aggressor country, which is being documented for international tribunals. The command assures that all details of the incident will be made public after the completion of initial investigative and evacuation measures. Currently, official authorities are continuing to gather evidence of Russia’s violations of international humanitarian law.
The Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine has opened a criminal case regarding yet another war crime committed by Russian servicemen. According to the investigation, near the village of Veterinarne in the Kharkiv region, the invaders cynically killed four Ukrainian prisoners of war.
Dmytro Lubinets, the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights, is preparing an appeal to the UN and the International Committee of the Red Cross regarding the shooting of four Ukrainian prisoners of war and an evacuation team. The shooting took place during the declared Easter ceasefire.
