Russia's military casualties have exceeded 1.5 million

On September 9, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine updated its figures on Russian military casualties. Over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian defenders killed 1,480 invaders, and Russia’s total casualties have exceeded 1.5 million soldiers.

 

As of September 9, Russia had suffered the following losses in the war against Ukraine:

  • personnel—approximately 1,500,870 (+1,480) individuals;
  • tanks – 12,338 (+6);
  • armored combat vehicles – 25,290 (+5);
  • artillery systems – 49,383 (+42);
  • multiple-launch rocket systems – 2,105 (+1);
  • air defense systems – 1,613 (+1);
  • aircraft – 441 (+0);
  • helicopters – 355 (+0);
  • ground-based robotic systems – 2,534 (+13) units;
  • operational-tactical-level UAVs – 506,188 (+1,879) units;
  • cruise missiles – 5,103 (+33) units;
  • ships/boats – 35 (+0);
  • submarines – 2 (+0) units;
  • Vehicles and tankers – 146,008 (+530) units;
  • special equipment – 4,650 (+3) units

As a reminder, fires broke out at industrial facilities in the Kyiv region following an attack by the Russian Federation.

Russia also launched a massive attack on Kyiv, killing and wounding civilians.

Later, rescue workers showed the aftermath of the strikes on Kyiv.
