The Ryazan and Saratov refineries have become the absolute record-holders in terms of the number of airstrikes, with 15 strikes recorded at each. Another regular target has been the Syzran refinery, which has been targeted by drones 11 times. Currently, only two large Russian refineries remain untouched, but both are geographically located deep behind the Urals.

Strikes on fuel infrastructure have already led to significant economic consequences for the aggressor country. According to specialized international agencies Reuters and Bloomberg, due to the damage sustained, a number of enterprises were forced to significantly reduce production volumes or completely halt their operations. As a result, total oil refining volumes in Russia have fallen to their lowest levels since 2009.

On the night of May 21, fighters from the Special Operations Forces (SSO) and Unmanned Systems Forces (SBS) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine delivered a precision strike on the Syzran oil refinery in the Samara region of the Russian Federation.

In Russia, following the drone attack, fires broke out at the Lukoil-Nizhegorodnefteorgsintez oil refinery in the city of Kstovo, Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, and on the grounds of the Azot chemical plant in Nevinnomyssk, Stavropol Krai.

On the night of May 20, a series of explosions was heard in the Stavropol Krai of Russia, followed by reports of damage to the Nevinnomyssk Azot plant. The plant is one of the largest producers of ammonia and ammonium nitrate in the Russian Federation. Information regarding the extent of the damage and the consequences of the attack is being clarified.
