230 infrastructure facilities need protection, some of them were guarded by NASAMS — Zelensky

Volodymyr Zelensky has stated that Ukraine operates NASAMS surface-to-air missile systems, which partially protect the country’s priority facilities.

He made this remark at a press conference in Kyiv with Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store.

“We have NASAMS, this infrastructure, it’s not just one or two — it’s more. I don’t want to share the exact number here, but all NASAMS are operational because we have priorities — 230 facilities that need to be preserved. But some of them were protected by NASAMS,” Zelensky said.

The President added that during the winter attacks, the Russian side used not only cruise but also ballistic missiles. Ukraine received PAC-2 and PAC-3 packages from the United States, but PAC-2 missiles are not effective against ballistic targets.

On 24 February, Zelensky said that Ukraine had received part of the air defence assistance package two days earlier, but the country needs additional missiles for the Patriot systems to strengthen its defensive capabilities.

Volodymyr Zelensky also reported that all “Flamingo” missiles launched at the Votkinsk plant in Russia hit their targets. He also announced further successful strikes on Russian territory.
