"Now it is up to Putin to say whether he is ready to return to the negotiating table," Macron said
French President Emmanuel Macron stated that, following the consolidation of the international partners’ positions at the G7 summit, it is now up to the Russian dictator to demonstrate a genuine willingness to engage in peace talks.
According to the French leader, any attempts by the Kremlin to issue ultimatums are completely futile for the civilized world.
Macron emphasized that European nations, together with the United States, have formed a unified and unwavering position regarding continued support for Ukraine’s defense capabilities.
The President of the French Republic specifically noted the changing role of European countries in the global security system and in coordinating aid.
He noted that the European community is taking on more responsibility by working in synergy with its American partners.
This ensures a stable supply of the necessary weapons and financial resources to defend Ukraine’s sovereignty.
“Now it is up to him to say whether he is ready to return to the negotiating table—but not under unacceptable conditions. Now America is making way for Europe. And above all, America stands with us to help Ukraine, and that is very important,” the French leader emphasized.
Summing up the recent G7 international summit, Emmanuel Macron spoke highly of the results of the meetings and the decisions adopted.
In his view, the leaders of the world’s leading democratic nations succeeded in demonstrating unprecedented unity.
The Kremlin’s propaganda hopes for a rift among Ukraine’s allies were completely dashed following this round of diplomatic talks.
The main achievement of the summit was the agreement on long-term measures that will help the Ukrainian Armed Forces not only hold their defensive lines but also effectively liberate occupied territories.
In addition, the partners developed comprehensive mechanisms for restoring critical infrastructure, which is regularly destroyed as a result of massive shelling.
