Zelenskyy: More and more Russians want the war to end due to pressure on Russia
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine’s actions aimed at weakening the Russian economy and military capabilities are influencing public sentiment in Russia, leading more and more Russians to want an end to the war.
According to the head of state, Ukraine continues to strike at Russia’s ability to finance the war, in particular by creating an energy shortage and reducing the resources the Kremlin can allocate to military operations.
At the same time, Zelenskyy emphasized that Russia’s response to this pressure remains massive missile and drone attacks on Ukrainian cities.
The president also stressed that he does not view the shift in public sentiment regarding the war as evidence of a change in Russians’ attitude toward Ukrainians.
“The number of people who have begun to treat us with respect has not increased. I don’t believe that,” Zelenskyy said.
