Zelenskyy confirmed that the Moscow Oil Refinery and facilities in the Rostov Region had been struck again
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy officially confirmed that on the night of June 18, the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked the Moscow Oil Refinery, as well as military targets in the Rostov region and in the temporarily occupied territories.
The head of state called these long-range strikes a fully justified response to Russia’s regular shelling of Ukrainian cities and communities.
The targeted facilities in the aggressor country’s fuel and energy complex are critically important, as they directly support the Russian war machine.
This large-scale air operation was the result of coordinated and highly precise joint efforts by several key departments of the Ukrainian military and security services.
In his official address, the country’s leader specifically noted the significant contribution of the defense units that participated in the planning and execution of these nighttime airstrikes.
“I thank our Ukrainian Defense and Security Forces for their joint efforts—the SBU, SBS, SSO, GUR, and our missile brigade for their precision,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized.
The effectiveness of Ukraine’s weapons and the successful penetration of Russia’s air defense system have been highly praised by the international community and Western allies.
The President noted that world leaders are closely monitoring the course of hostilities aimed at depleting the enemy’s economic potential and recognize the effectiveness of Kyiv’s new tactics.
“In recent days, all our partners have highlighted the precision and effectiveness of our mid-range strikes and long-range sanctions,” the head of state concluded.
