Zelenskyy confirmed strikes on three oil refineries in Bashkortostan
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed that the infrastructure of three Russian oil refineries in Bashkortostan had been struck. According to him, Ukrainian forces also struck the sanctioned Russian container ship Yanina, which sank in the Black Sea.
The head of state emphasized that Ukraine continues to strike targets that help Russia wage war.
Zelenskyy reported that Ukrainian forces used long-range weapons last night. He said strikes were recorded in the waters of the Black and Azov Seas.
Separately, the president spoke about the Russian container ship Yanina, which is subject to sanctions. The ship was sailing under the Russian flag and, according to Zelenskyy, had a capacity of over 100,000 metric tons. “Thanks to the precision of the Defense Forces, it sank,” the president stated.
Zelenskyy did not provide all the details of the operation but emphasized that the Ukrainian military continues to strike targets linked to the Russian war machine.

The president also confirmed that the infrastructure of three Russian oil refineries in Bashkortostan had been struck. According to him, the operation was carried out by units of the Security Service of Ukraine. The distance from Ukraine to the targets was nearly 1,600 kilometers. “Just last night, units of the Security Service struck the infrastructure of three Russian oil refineries in Bashkortostan. The distance to the facilities was nearly 1,600 kilometers. These are refineries that process millions of metric tons of oil per year. Thank you for your precision!” Zelenskyy said.

He also stated that Ukraine is continuing to put pressure on Russia and is gradually implementing its plan for long-range strikes. “We are continuing our just pressure. The plan for long-range strikes is being implemented step by step,” the president noted. He announced this on Facebook.
On the night of August 1, drones launched a massive attack on the Russian city of Ufa in Bashkortostan, located approximately 1,500 kilometers from the Ukrainian border. Following the attack, a fire broke out at one of the oil refineries, and local residents reported a series of explosions.
