Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine is responding to Russian attacks on its energy infrastructure with retaliatory strikes.
He said this during a conversation with journalists.
According to the head of state, Ukrainian forces are striking targets that are sensitive to Russia and of critical importance.
Zelenskyy noted that Russia’s losses already amount to tens of billions and are having a significant impact on its economy.
He added that despite rising revenues from energy resources due to the situation in the Middle East, Russia is unable to compensate for the deficit.
The President emphasized that Ukraine will continue to respond to attacks, particularly on facilities that support energy production and weapons manufacturing.
Zelenskyy also expressed hope for increased sanctions pressure from partners, specifically the adoption of a new EU sanctions package.
