Zhorin warned of an escalation in Russia's aerial attacks

Maksym Zhorin, deputy commander of the Third Army Corps, stated that Russia is moving into a new phase of attacks on Ukrainian civilian cities. According to him, due to their inability to achieve decisive victories on the front lines, the occupiers may escalate their attacks on the civilian population in the coming months.

According to Zhorin’s assessment, the escalation of missile and drone attacks is directly linked to Russia’s failures on the front lines: the Russians are unable to carry out their plans on the front and are compensating for this with strikes on civilians.

“It is important to realize that the Russians have launched a new phase of aerial terror. They are indeed currently failing to carry out their plans on the front lines. Since they are unable to oppose us on the front lines, they will attack peaceful cities and civilians even more,” the lieutenant colonel wrote.

The Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed a similar assessment of the situation: massive strikes on Ukrainian cities are direct evidence that Russia is suffering defeat on the battlefield and is attempting to compensate for this with terror against the civilian population.

Zhorin urged people to prepare for new shelling not only in the traditional way—by responding to alerts and stockpiling essential supplies. The officer emphasized the importance of completing military training courses, particularly in tactical medicine.

“In the coming days and months, we will most likely see a new level of Russian shelling. We need to prepare—and this isn’t just about responding to alarms and stocking up on essentials. I remind you of military training courses, primarily tactical medicine. It’s all about your own safety and that of your loved ones,” he emphasized.

He said this on his Telegram channel.
