Drone footage shows destroyed Kupiansk (photos)
The Ukrainian Ground Forces released aerial footage showing the current state of Kupiansk in the Kharkiv region. The city has been turned into ruins by the Russian army, with destroyed apartment buildings and neighborhoods where almost no intact structures remain. The images were shared by the 116th Separate Mechanized Brigade.
The footage highlights the scale of destruction caused by Russian shelling and intense fighting. Entire residential blocks have been obliterated, multi-story buildings stand without roofs or floors, and streets are littered with debris. The military statement noted:
"These images show the once peaceful and cozy Kupiansk, now reduced to ruins and total devastation by Russia. It is easy to see what the city was like before the occupiers arrived."

The 116th Separate Mechanized Brigade continues to defend Kupiansk despite ongoing attacks and the challenging frontline situation. Soldiers emphasized:
"Russia destroys, and we defend what is ours — our land, our people, and our future."

The drone images reveal ruined high-rises, damaged courtyards, and streets that were recently residential areas. Some parts of the city are now completely uninhabitable, a result of systematic Russian attacks on civilian infrastructure.
Kupiansk remains one of the key points on the Kharkiv front. Despite constant threats and destruction, Ukrainian forces continue to hold their positions, preventing further enemy advances.
