The Ukrainian Armed Forces eliminated another 1,420 invaders and destroyed more than 1,300 drones
Total combat losses among Russian troops since the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine—from February 24, 2022, to August 29, 2026—amount to approximately 1,485,200 soldiers.
Over the past day, the Ukrainian Defense Forces have neutralized another 1,420 Russian occupiers.
As of August 29, 2026, the Russian army has lost:
- personnel – approximately 1,485,200 (+1,420 over the past day);
- tanks – 12,310 (+3);
- armored combat vehicles – 25,241 (+4);
- artillery systems – 48,774 (+25);
- multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) – 2,070 (+3);
- air defense systems – 1,593 (+0);
- aircraft – 440 (+0);
- helicopters – 354 (+0);
- ground-based robotic systems – 2,429 (+9);
- operational-tactical UAVs – 486,384 (+1,360);
- cruise missiles – 5,060 (+0);
- ships and boats – 35 (+0);
- submarines – 2 (+0);
- Vehicles and tanker trucks – 141,059 (+318);
- special equipment – 4,608 (+4).
The largest increases over the past 24 hours were in operational-tactical-level UAVs—up by 1,360 units—vehicles and tankers—up by 318—and artillery systems—up by 25.
In addition, Ukrainian forces destroyed 3 tanks, 4 armored fighting vehicles, 3 multiple-launch rocket systems, 9 ground-based robotic systems, and 4 units of specialized equipment.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine emphasized that the data on Russian troop losses is being verified.

Since the start of the day on August 28, there have been 207 combat engagements on the front lines. Russian troops carried out the most attacks in the Pokrovsk and Kostiantynivka sectors, but fighting also continued in the Kharkiv and Luhansk regions and in southern Ukraine.
Earlier, Russia launched a ballistic missile strike on a facility in Kryvyi Rih.
As a reminder, Russia attacked Kyiv with ballistic missiles.
