On August 14 and during the night of August 15, the Ukrainian military carried out strikes on several key military targets of the Russian army. Among the targets hit were a “Strela-10” anti-aircraft missile system, a drone depot, a logistics depot, and two command posts. The full extent of the damage is still being assessed.

According to military sources, Ukrainian units struck a Russian “Strela-10” anti-aircraft missile system in Kreminna, Luhansk Oblast. The “Strela-10” is a Soviet-era mobile air defense system that Russian forces use to engage low-altitude aerial targets. Its destruction or damage reduces the Russian military’s ability to protect its positions from Ukrainian strikes.

In addition, a drone depot in Vuhledar, Donetsk Oblast, was struck. Russian forces store drones at such facilities, which they use for reconnaissance, fire control, and strikes against Ukrainian positions. Another target hit was a logistics depot in Lysychansk, Luhansk Oblast. Such depots supply units with ammunition, equipment, fuel, and other necessary resources.

Two command posts were struck

Defense forces also struck two Russian military command posts. One of them is located in Selidovo, Donetsk Oblast. The second is in Mykhailivka, Zaporizhzhia Oblast. Command posts are crucial to the operations of the troops. It is there that the command receives information from units, transmits orders, and coordinates military actions.

Therefore, strikes on such targets can complicate the command and control of Russian units and their coordination on the battlefield. At the same time, the General Staff has not yet reported the exact extent of the damage. The extent of the damage inflicted on Russian forces and the final results of the strikes are currently being assessed.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to strike key Russian targets

The General Staff emphasized that the Ukrainian military continues to target key military objectives of the Russian army. “Operations against key military objectives of the Russian aggressor are ongoing,” the General Staff noted.

Ukraine also continues to launch long-range strikes against military and industrial facilities on Russian territory. The goal of these strikes is to reduce Russia’s ability to wage war, specifically by targeting factories, warehouses, command posts, air defense systems, and other facilities that support Russian troops.

At this time, the Ukrainian side has not disclosed the final casualty figures for the Russian army resulting from the strikes on August 14 and during the night of August 15. Data on the consequences of the attacks are still being refined. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported on the results of the strikes.

On the night of August 15, Ukrainian defense forces struck several key targets on Russian territory simultaneously. Among them were the “Progress” Rocket and Space Center in the Samara Oblast and the “Savasleika” military airfield in the Nizhny Novgorod Oblast. According to Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Ukrainian “Flamingo” missiles were used to strike “Progress.”

Over the past 24 hours, the Russian army lost another 1,370 soldiers in Ukraine. According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, since the start of the full-scale war, Russia’s total personnel losses have already reached approximately 1,465,810.

On the front lines over the past day, August 14, there were 233 combat engagements between Ukrainian troops and Russian occupiers. The Russians actively used aircraft and drones: they carried out 71 airstrikes, dropped 241 guided bombs, and launched 10,626 kamikaze drones.

In Samara, Russia, a fire broke out at the “CSKB-Progress” facility following an attack. According to Andriy Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation, the plant manufactures medium-class launch vehicles and unmanned space vehicles.
