The Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed a Russian sabotage and reconnaissance group that was attempting to infiltrate Orikhiv
In the Orikhiv sector, Russian troops continue to attempt to infiltrate between the positions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces. Recently, Ukrainian troops detected and neutralized a Russian sabotage and reconnaissance group that was attempting to enter Orikhiv.
According to Kolesnichenko, Russian forces are attempting to infiltrate the areas of Malaya Tokmachka, Orikhiv, and Stepnogorsk.
Ukrainian defenders detected and destroyed one of the Russian sabotage and reconnaissance groups that was heading toward Orikhiv.
The military official emphasized that there is currently no reason to speak of a threat of losing Orikhiv. The city remains under the full control of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
According to him, Russian assault and sabotage groups are being detected even on the approaches to Ukrainian positions, after which they are subjected to comprehensive fire strikes.
Having failed to achieve their desired results directly on the front lines, Russian troops have focused significant efforts on disrupting Ukrainian logistics.
In particular, the occupiers are making massive use of FPV drones along supply routes. In this way, they are attempting to:
- hinder the delivery of ammunition;
- hinder the evacuation of the wounded;
- hinder the rotation of Ukrainian servicemen.
At the same time, a spokesperson for the 148th Airborne Brigade noted that the Defense Forces’ logistics system remains stable and under control.
Critically important supply missions for Ukrainian units are being carried out. According to the military official, Russian attempts to isolate the combat zone do not currently create the conditions for an enemy offensive.

As of August 8, 2026, the total combat losses of Russian troops since the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine amount to approximately 1,456,610 soldiers.
On August 7, there were 192 combat engagements between Ukrainian defenders and Russian troops on the front lines. The occupiers were most active in the Pokrovsk direction—25 assaults were recorded there over the past 24 hours, and Ukrainian forces neutralized 56 Russian soldiers.
Russian troops have made new advances near Kostiantynivka in the Donetsk region. Changes along the front line were documented by the DeepState monitoring project.
