The U.S. administration is facing difficulties in its conflict with Iran — FP

A month after the start of active hostilities between the U.S. and Iran, there is growing evidence that Washington’s strategic objectives remain unmet.

Analysts at Foreign Policy note that despite military successes, the political and economic risks for the U.S. are rapidly increasing.

Domestic support for the White House’s actions within American society is currently quite low.

According to the latest Pew Research polls, 61% of Americans disapprove of how U.S. President Donald Trump is handling military operations.

Only 37% of citizens support the administration’s course, and the country is experiencing a deep political divide.

Most Republican Party supporters approve of the decisions made by U.S. President Donald Trump, while support among Democrats is minimal.

Militarily, the United States, together with Israel, has been able to inflict significant losses on Tehran.

A number of key military and political figures were eliminated, Iran’s missile capabilities were significantly weakened, and part of its defense infrastructure was destroyed.

Pro-Iranian proxy forces, including the terrorist group Hezbollah, have also been targeted. However, despite intense pressure, the Iranian regime has retained its capacity to resist and continues to carry out attacks on Israel and American targets.

Moreover, Tehran has managed to draw new parties into the conflict, notably the Yemeni Houthis.

This has expanded the scope of hostilities and created additional threats to international shipping in strategically important regions.

The economic factor has dealt one of the most painful blows to global stability. The partial blockade of the Strait of Hormuz has led to a sharp spike in prices for oil, gas, and jet fuel, which consumers around the world have felt.

A war with Iran would be costly for Arab countries.

Additionally, Iran confirmed that it is maintaining contact with the U.S., but emphasized that these are not negotiations. Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that communications are taking place both directly and through intermediaries, but there are no agreements or negotiation processes in place yet.

The U.S. and Iran have yet to reach an agreement, even after a new round of talks.

The Pentagon stated that the video posted by Donald Trump shows strikes by American bombers on an ammunition depot in Iran. The facility in question is located in the city of Isfahan.
