Afghanistan may send migrant workers to Russia amid a labor shortage
The Afghan government is exploring the possibility of sending migrant workers to Russia amid an acute labor shortage in the country.
This was stated by Afghanistan’s Minister of Trade and Industry, Nuruddin Aziz.
According to him, the matter is being discussed between the relevant agencies of both countries, and there is already mutual interest.
The only significant obstacle currently cited is the language barrier, but a joint commission is already working to resolve this issue.
Amid the war and demographic challenges, Russia is facing a severe labor shortage. Earlier, Elvira Nabiullina, head of the Central Bank of Russia, stated that the country has never before experienced such a shortage of workers.
According to estimates by Russian officials and businesses, the industrial sector alone is short about 2 million workers, and by 2032, the Russian economy may need more than 12 million new workers.
As a reminder, the Taliban rejected Trump’s proposal to return U.S. troops to Afghanistan.
Trump also hinted that he is not opposed to sending U.S. troops back to Afghanistan.
