Russian forces have become active again near the Antonivsky Bridge

Russian forces have become active again near the Antonivsky Bridge

Following a redeployment, Russian troops have once again become active near the Antonivsky Road Bridge in the Dnipro sector. In recent days, there has been an increase in combat clashes there. Some Russian assault troops are already refusing to carry out orders to cross the Dnipro River, as Ukrainian forces are detecting their groups and destroying them even during the crossing. This was reported in a comment to Ukrinform by Vladislav Voloshin, spokesperson for the Southern Defense Forces.

In the Dnipro direction, Russian troops have once again intensified their activity near the Antonivsky Road Bridge. After a brief pause, the occupiers resumed assault operations and attempts to advance in the area of the Dnipro Islands.

According to him, three combat clashes were recorded on this section of the front in the past 24 hours alone. Two more attacks took place the day before. “The enemy has resumed active operations near the Antonivsky Road Bridge,” Voloshin said.

The Defense Forces explain that the Russians have already managed to regroup their forces and bring in new units. But even after that, the Russian army began experiencing problems with its assault groups. According to Voloshin, an increasing number of occupiers are refusing to carry out orders to cross the Dnipro River and land on the islands. The reason is simple—Ukrainian forces quickly detect such groups and attack them while they are still in the water. “Some of their assault groups are refusing to carry out these orders because we detect them and sink them,” the spokesperson said.

This refers to the area around the Antonivsky Bridge and the islands on the Dnipro, where Russian troops have repeatedly attempted to establish a foothold or conduct reconnaissance-in-force. Due to the difficult terrain and constant surveillance by Ukrainian forces, such operations remain highly risky for the occupiers.

Ukrainian military officials note that the enemy continues to press forward in small groups and is attempting to find weak spots in the defense. At the same time, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are keeping the situation under control and regularly thwart Russian attempts to establish a foothold on the islands or cross the straits.

In the southern sector, the Russian army has stepped up its activity across several sections of the front in recent weeks. However, attempts to cross water obstacles remain among the most difficult and dangerous operations for the occupiers.

The occupiers complain that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are using drones to cut off the land corridor to Crimea.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces eliminated another 1,020 Russian troops on the front lines over the past 24 hours.
