AlUla Peregrina in AlUla, Saudi Arabia, is developing the production of oils, extracts and natural ingredients from the Moringa peregrina tree for cosmetics and personal care products. AlUla Peregrina was founded by the Royal Commission for AlUla in 2021. The company’s chairman of the board, Abobakar Alanazi, said that the enterprise aims to become a Saudi platform for high-quality active natural ingredients and expand its presence in regional and global markets.
Research and processing
The company’s developments focus on natural compounds of Moringa peregrina, including ceramides, plant exosomes, bioactive peptides and antioxidants. According to Alanazi, AlUla Peregrina has developed a range of oils and extracts that can be used for skin care.

The company conducts scientific research, laboratory testing and clinical efficacy assessments before the commercial use of its products. Alanazi reported four registered patents related to research and development work. The company is also developing the use of ingredients in hair care products and wellness products.
Hotels and international markets
For hotels and spas, AlUla Peregrina develops customized formulas and fragrances inspired by Arab personal care traditions. Such solutions can be adapted to the identity of a particular establishment, and development begins with identifying market and partner needs.
Alanazi also said that the company’s supply chain had undergone Union for Ethical BioTrade verification for responsible sourcing. AlUla Peregrina works with local farmers in growing and harvesting raw materials and is working on traceability of their origin. Exports are one of the key areas of the strategy: the company is expanding contacts through industry exhibitions, specialized platforms and partnerships with international companies and brands.
