An American switched to a children's Barbie car because of high gas prices
In the U.S., due to the rapid rise in gas prices, people are increasingly looking for alternative ways to get around and save money. In particular, a 30-year-old Georgia resident has started driving a Barbie toy car to cut down on fuel and travel costs.
According to Reuters, mechanic Mali Hightower from Ellenwood converted a pink Power Wheels Barbie Dream Camper toy camper into a real vehicle.

He installed a small gasoline engine from a pressure washer into the toy car. Now he drives it to the store and runs errands.
“My real car costs about $90 per fill-up. That’s too expensive,” the American explained.

Record-high gas prices in the U.S. prompted this decision. As of May, the average price of gas exceeded $4.50 per gallon. Before the war between Israel and Iran, prices were around $3.
According to an Ipsos poll, nearly half of Americans have already cut back on trips due to the cost of gas. In some cities, the situation has reached the point where people are standing in line for hours for free fuel cards. For example, in California, a travel agency was handing out $100 in gas money to drivers to encourage them to travel.
Meanwhile, electric vehicle owners have started actively joking about the situation. One Tesla fan posted a video showing gas prices and said he couldn’t even remember the last time he looked at a gas station price board.
