Sudanese army says it downed RSF drone in Blue Nile state — Anadolu Agency
The Sudanese army said its air defense forces shot down a drone that, according to its information, belonged to the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in the city of Kurmuk in Blue Nile state in southeastern Sudan.
As Anadolu Agency reports, this was stated by the Sudanese army's 4th Infantry Division. The military described the device as a strategic drone and said that no casualties were recorded among government forces.
Military statement
The division said in a statement that the interception of the drone confirms the high level of readiness and operational discipline of its units. There was no immediate comment from the RSF on the army's statement.

Earlier the same day, the Sudanese army reported an ambush in the Magaza area of Blue Nile state against RSF forces and their ally, the Sudan People's Liberation Movement-North. The military said the RSF suffered significant losses and that a large amount of military vehicles and equipment was destroyed.
Fighting in Blue Nile state
On Friday, according to the army, its units carried out a preemptive strike south of the Al-Kaili area in Blue Nile state. The military claims to have destroyed nine RSF combat vehicles along with their equipment.
Since October, clashes between the Sudanese army and the RSF have also been taking place in the three Kordofan states — North, West and South — as well as in Darfur and Blue Nile state. The war between the Sudanese army and the RSF has continued since April 2023; according to UN and international organizations' estimates, it has claimed tens of thousands of lives and displaced about 13 million people.
