He cited an assessment by the Economic Policy Institute, according to which the president’s policies weakened workers’ bargaining positions in the labor market and made it harder for families to pay for basic needs.
The author also mentioned Senator Elizabeth Warren, who, according to his information, released a report in June titled “10 Ways President Trump Has Harmed American Workers.” Warren stated that the administration’s policies, in her view, made it more difficult to find employment and join unions, while making it easier for large corporations to deny workers benefits.
Myrick also criticizes Trump’s tariff policy, deregulation, immigration measures, and the administration’s approach to public health. In his view, the attention to Trump’s special treatment of Harp is driven by the contrast with how the author assesses the president’s treatment of the problems faced by most Americans.
